Andrew Hauser was the worship leader for this morning. Andrew began the worship time with scripture from Philippians 2: (Jesus) made himself nothing, taking the very nature of a servant,being made in human likeness. And being found in appearance as a man, he humbled himself and became obedient to death—even death on a cross! God (through Jesus) became human, just as human as you and I. He has first hand knowledge of the struggles that we face. Our God understands us completely!
Musically, we celebrated that God came to earth in human form, but we also worshiped Him as the highly exalted, powerful and everlasting God! The worship team led the songs “Here I Am to Worship”, “Beautiful One”, “Everlasting God”, “Everything I Need” (Kutless) and “In Christ Alone”.
Our purpose every Sunday is to gather together as a community, to meet with the One who is our strength and our hope. The One who is worthy of our adoration. Matthew 18:20 says “for where two or three come together in my name, there am I with them”. Read more →
This morning, we sang songs that remind us that only through Christ can we find salvation, true redemption. Here are the songs we sang: “Salvation Is Here” (Hillsong), “Nothing But the Blood” (great hymn), “No Not One” (Brandon Heath), and “You Alone Can Rescue” (Matt Redman). This morning, we concluded the “Pursuing God” series. Our theme was “Pursuing God through Worship”. Throughout the Psalms, we read statements that encourage us to “praise him”. I really like this quote from CS Lewis: “The Psalmists, in telling everyone to praise God, are doing what all men do when they speak of what they care about”. Think about it. That’s what we do.
