Great worship time! We pray that God was honored through the music we played and the lyrics we sang. We began with Lincoln Brewster’s “Today is the Day”. We continued with “Sing, Sing, Sing” (Chris Tomlin), “Marvelous Light” (Charlie Hall), Stand (Hillsong, MW Smith) and “Our God” (Chris Tomlin). We closed the service with a great song of dedication, “I Give You My Heart”. Wonderful morning of message and music!
32 Sing to God, you kingdoms of the earth,
sing praise to the Lord,
33 to him who rides across the highest heavens, the ancient heavens,
who thunders with mighty voice.
34 Proclaim the power of God,
whose majesty is over Israel,
whose power is in the heavens.
35 You, God, are awesome in your sanctuary; Read more →
Psalm 134:2 – Lift up your hands in the sanctuary and praise the LORD
Psalm 141:2 – May my prayer be set before you like incense; may the lifting up of my hands be like the evening sacrifice.
“Go into all the world and preach the gospel”. These words from Mark 16:15 are the inspiration for the lyrics of our closing song “Until the Whole World Hears” (Casting Crowns). Roark Jones did a great job with the vocals and our band captured the intensity of the song. Thanks to my brother Todd for loaning me the Gibson SG. I was told after the service that all I needed now was the schoolboy outfit. Hmmm.
Our other worship songs included: “Joy (Shining Light)” (Tree 63), “Let God Arise” (Chris Tomlin), “Glory to God” (Fee), “Mighty to Save” (Hillsong), & “You Alone are God” (Hillsong).
