Sunday Services – July 4th, 2010 0
We began the morning with a large vocal ensemble singing a new arrangement of “The Star Spangled Banner”. I want to thank Patty Thompson for directing and rehearsing this group. They did a stellar job! The ensemble help lead us in worship with an “unplugged” band (acoustic piano, violin & bass). Together, we sang songs of God’s provision and faithfulness to us. We began withthe hymn “O God Our Help in Ages Past. We continued this worship theme with “Great is Thy Faithfulness”, “How Great is Our God” (Chris Tomlin) and “Jesus Messiah” (Chris Tomlin). We closed the service with a song we haven’t sang for years, “King of the Nations”, celebrating that Jesus is truly King and Lord of all!
This was also the Sunday that several of our Youth were traveling to Mexico for a week long mission trip. Make sure you check out Tommy Morelock’s blog (tommymorelock.com) to read the wonderful reports and stories from this great week of ministry!
